Over the years we have waded through Himalayas full of records and know our way around the mountains! Finding the most efficient route from the beginning takes the kind of practice that we have lots of. Once in a while, we come across reasons that records just cannot be found and we tell you.

It is possible to do your own research and if you have the time and resources it can be great fun. It can also be laborious and frustrating searching through a maze of information and misinformation. If that's not for you - that's where we come in!

Family history research involves very careful searching and cross checking through many different kinds of records including Church as well as other types of Parish records, Civil Births, Deaths and Marriages, Census and LDS records. It involves Internet access and then some interesting footwork round record offices and graveyards!
We take the greatest care in verifying every record involved before accepting its authenticity.

It's a constant surprise and joy to find that most Yorkshire graveyards in the Yorkshire Dales are in stunningly beautiful countryside with churches dating back to the 12th century. We can capture this for you and send photographs of anywhere in the county.
